Mpetshi Perricard Qualifies for the Bordeaux Challenger Final
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is regaining confidence just days before Roland-Garros. The Frenchman secured his spot in the Bordeaux Challenger final this Saturday by defeating Rinky Hijikata in two tight sets (7-5, 7-6).
He made the difference with eleven aces and 28 winners to claim his place in the tournament final. The Frenchman now awaits the result of the other semifinal between Nikoloz Basilashvili and Tallon Griekspoor.
Before this week, Mpetshi Perricard had suffered six consecutive defeats, including five first-round exits, since Indian Wells. If he wins tomorrow on the clay courts of Bordeaux, he will officially be seeded at Roland-Garros.
