This Wednesday, Lorenzo Musetti and Taylor Fritz go head-to-head at Wimbledon for a place in the semi-finals.

Here's a preview of the 3rd men's quarter-final at Wimbledon.

- State of play -

This duel is likely to be much more closely contested than might be expected, and both protagonists look more than capable of winning.

On the one hand, Fritz seems almost unstoppable. Since his setback against Thompson at Queen's, he hasn't lost a match (8 wins in 8 games). After winning at Eastbourne, he even stunned Alexander Zverev in the Round of 16 on Centre Court (4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 6-3). A tough man, the American is a serious contender for the title this year.

Opposite him, it's a transformed Musetti who takes to the court. His heroic third-round loss to Djokovic at Roland-Garros seems to have awakened him. Discovering his affinity with grass, he has put in one great performance after another (semi-final in Stuttgart, final at Queen's) and has taken full advantage of a favorable draw to reach his first Grand Slam quarter-final here.

- Past encounters -

Although they have only played each other three times, the history of confrontations seems to favor the American (2-1).

Indeed, Musetti's only victory came this season, albeit on clay (6-4, 6-4 in Monte-Carlo).

The other two duels have both gone to Fritz, who won the Davis Cup (7-6, 6-3) and the 2022 Wimbledon (6-4, 6-4, 6-3).

The psychological advantage may therefore be more on Taylor Fritz's side.

- TT's prediction -

We're not going to lie, we find it hard to pick a clear winner. While the world number 12 seems a cut above the rest, he's not always a model of solidity in the final rounds of the Grand Slam, and Musetti remains a player capable of just about anything.

So, as part of our partnership with Vbet.fr, the most interesting and realistic bets on this match seem to us to be betting on Musetti winning a set (1.38) or perhaps even two (2.13).

As a reminder, if you don't yet have a Vbet.fr account, you can create one and place your first bet with complete peace of mind. If you don't win, you'll be refunded up to €100 in play credits (see full details).

What's more, if you refer a friend, you earn €50 in game credits and your friend earns €25 (see all details).

Sports betting is far from an exact science, so take care to remain reasonable in your bets to keep it all a pleasure. And for those under 18, no sports betting!

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?
