No need to have enemies off the court," Sinner speaks on his relationship with Alcaraz
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are just two wins away each from meeting again in the US Open final.
Asked in a press conference about his relationship with the Spaniard, Sinner stated that it is a healthy one: "We maintain a good friendship off the court, it's great to see.
There's no need to have enemies off the court; we're already rivals when we meet on the court. That's where we try to play our best tennis, but it stops there.
After the handshake, everything goes back to normal. It's fantastic to see that. We're both surrounded by excellent teams, we lead normal lives outside of tennis; for example, we love playing golf.
We have our passions, we train hard, the team supports us, and people are honest with us. Many players are like that. Tennis is very important to us, but it also depends on our sacrifices.
It's one thing to be a good tennis player and another to be a good person; they are two different things. I think we're both a bit of both, so that's good.
