Alex de Minaur isn't making much noise at this US Open, but he has indeed qualified for the quarterfinals and will face Felix Auger-Aliassime, where he will have a chance to compete.

In a press conference, he discussed his main quality: speed. For him, it allows him to compensate for certain weaknesses.

He states: "I've always thought, and I've always been told, that without my mobility and speed, I wouldn't be here. It's undoubtedly one of my greatest qualities.

When they were taken away from me, I really doubted my ability to win tennis matches. It's not like I'm hitting incredible serves or scoring winners from all over the court.

I just realized that throughout my entire career, I've been the small one. I was the one who wasn't strong, the one who had to find many ways to win tennis matches, and the one who really had to give my best tactically.

So, when I stepped onto the court and played those matches as a junior, I looked for other ways to beat those bigger, stronger, and more powerful guys.

In a way, I went back to my childhood, to that time when I approached matches from a tactical perspective and had to hit the ball in such a way that my opponent couldn't read my movements.

That's more or less what I did. And now, here I am, achieving incredible results. I'm still competitive against the best players in the world.

Hello I'm new

6j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....
