Jelena Ostapenko spoke about a major change in tennis in recent years: electronic officiating.
Currently competing in Charleston (where she was eliminated this Thursday by Danielle Collins), she shared her thoughts on the new system and stated that she prefers the old days, when players could request video reviews if they believed the officials had made a mistake.
"You can still challenge the call, but you know the result won’t change. It’s not as fun anymore.
Yes, I think I’ll miss Hawk-Eye because it created a moment where you’d wait to see on the screen whether the ball bounced in or out.
It was a bit stressful, but in a positive way."
