Panatta analyzes Musetti's recent performances: "He has tremendous talent on the backhand"
The first month of competition on European clay has been extremely convincing for Lorenzo Musetti, who reached his first Masters 1000 final in Monte-Carlo and then the semifinals in Madrid.
By entering the Top 10 on Monday, the Italian is showing strong progress, which he will obviously need to confirm in the coming weeks and months. Speaking to *Corriere dello Sport*, former player Adriano Panatta shared his thoughts on the impressive rise of the Carrare native:
"A champion is obviously someone who reaches the Top 10, but now it's up to him to show us what kind of champion he will be. The number one spot is a whole different story, while the Top 5 is a group of excellence capable of challenging for the top position.
Behind them, from sixth to eighth place, are players who want to grow. On the other hand, ninth and tenth are for those who try but haven’t managed to make a leap in quality.
Based on what Musetti has shown, he won’t be another Sinner. He can get closer, if he manages to pull off some big wins. He knows how to use his shots. He has an intelligent and spectacular game.
Technically, I’m convinced he can improve his serve, but he has tremendous talent on the backhand."
