Ruud Speaks Out on the Sinner Case: "I’ve Always Considered Him Innocent and Extremely Unlucky"
The Sinner case has sent shockwaves through the tennis world. Suspended for three months due to doping, the Italian has divided public opinion. While many have been harsh toward the three-time Grand Slam champion, others have come to his defense.
Casper Ruud, who just won the UTS in Nîmes organized by Mouratoglou, shared his thoughts on the world No. 1’s situation:
"I’ve always considered him innocent and extremely unlucky regarding how the substance entered his body. Of course, it’s a rare case, but it’s physically possible.
It’s tough to be suspended for three months when you’re innocent. I’ve never seen Jannik as someone who would intentionally take doping substances or be capable of cheating.
We’re extremely vulnerable because we’re exposed to so many people as well as a myriad of different foods and countries."
Currently in Monte-Carlo, the Norwegian will begin his tournament against the winner of the match between Bautista Agut and Nakashima.
