Today's top story.

Tested positive twice for the metabolite clostébol at the Indian Wells tournament in March, the Transalpine has just been cleared by the relevant authorities.

Explaining that he had been unknowingly contaminated by one of the members of his medical team, the world number 1 appealed against two suspensions and won his case, even though his ATP points and prize money acquired at the Californian tournament have been withdrawn.

A number of other players on the ATP circuit have already expressed their opinions on social networks, and to say the least, they haven't exactly been supportive of Sinner.

Lucas Pouille was one of the first players to speak out in a tweet that left little doubt as to the Frenchman's point of view: "Maybe you should stop taking us for fools...?"

Denis Shapovalov, a regular poster on social networks, also voiced his critical opinion: "Different rules for different players.

I can't imagine how all the other players who have been banned for contaminated substances feel."

However, the one who was harshest in his comments was undoubtedly Nick Kyrgios: "It's ridiculous. Whether it's accidental or planned.

You're tested twice with a banned substance (steroid)... You should be banned for two years.

Your performance has been enhanced. Massage cream... Yes, that's good."

Jannik Sinner
2e, 11500 points
Lucas Pouille
553e, 71 points
Denis Shapovalov
23e, 1675 points
Nick Kyrgios
672e, 50 points

There appears to be no uniformity in the treatment for all players. The swede was hounded out of the game for missing drug tests. This fellow actually tested positive and was cleared of any wrongdoing. Make it make sense. This is laughable. I hope he was tested yesterday after his Cincy win.

No, you're wrong florinso. This has little to do with hate and Sinner as Mr. Nice Guy has very little haters. Most people just demand justice. No commitee or expert can tell for sure whether Sinner doped intentionally or not. There is only one way to treat all players equally: suspension if tested positive twice.

Why was this kept as a Big secret for more than 5 months, when others were suspended immediately?!

Because atp wanted it that way with him being the number 1 player

It is absolutely ridiculous to think that ANY member of SInners team would have banned substances ANYWHERE near them! His team cheated and they should be banned for 2 years

Hi, if we think clearly, Sinner is telling the truth!

And this is because he is young and at the beginning of a great career! There is no chance to act that foolish to be doped, we all know that dope is at least 2 years off, and actually its goodbye career! He is not stupid an young athletes don't need dopes! History has seen us that order players are caught for doping because they try to keep on for a bit more....

So yes, the players don't always know what the team doctors or coaches are giving them, and which decisions are making for them! Of course he MUST send off the the ones who are responsible for that!

Now about the ban from the Indian Wells tournament it was what MUST had happened because whoever the reason was, at that time he was doped and had an unpropper advantage to the others!

So I believe that everything done right, Jannik is innocent in deep truth, and we shouldn't think or keep anything dark to him!

There is no limit in people haters ..the decision was that he is not quilty..we can say the decision was wrong..but what do we know?..details made usually the difference! .why should we stand against? To be clear.. I am not his fan..i am a tennis fan. Sometimes your team make a mistake..everyone at a point makes mistakes..why the player should be quilty?
Erinna
If innocent why fined?

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
