Siniakova Dominates Golubic and Wins the WTA 125 Tournament in Warsaw
Ranked 89th in the world, Katerina Siniakova capped off a perfect week in Warsaw. In the Polish capital, the No. 3 seed defeated Viktorija Golubic, ranked 90th in the WTA and seeded No. 4, in a one-sided final (6-1, 6-2 in 1 hour and 17 minutes).
The Czech player, who is also excellent in doubles, lost only one set all week, during her opening match against Lanlana Tararudee (6-1, 1-6, 7-5).
After that, she went on to defeat Alina Charaeva (6-3, 6-3), Ella Seidel (6-3, 1-0 ret.), and Victoria Jimenez Katintseva (6-4, 6-0) in the semifinals.
The 29-year-old player, who reached the quarterfinals in Prague last week, played and won her first final of the season. This marks her second WTA 125 title, following her victory in Lleida, Spain, last year against Mayar Sherif.
