Sonego on his training sessions with Sinner: "It had been a long time since I played at such a high pace"
Before the highly anticipated return of Jannik Sinner to competition this week in Rome, Lorenzo Sonego had the chance to share a few training sessions with the world No. 1.
In comments reported by *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, the quarterfinalist of the last Australian Open was impressed by his compatriot’s level during practice:
"We’re going to see an even stronger champion. He’s ready to do whatever it takes to compete. He’s eager to come back and feel the adrenaline of a match. It couldn’t have been easy for him to be sidelined, especially because it wasn’t normal for him to be away. I saw him ready and eager to give his all, as he always has.
Are his shots still as heavy? Of course they are! It had been a long time since I played at such a high pace and for so long. It really tested me. It’s a privilege to be able to train with the world No. 1."
