Stats - Moutet, king of defenders in 2024

Tennis Insights continues to provide a detailed review of the past ATP season. With tennis not due to resume until December 31, the various statistics offered by the account enable us to find out a little more about the strengths and weaknesses of the world's top players.

This time, the focus is on the quality of court coverage and defense. In fact, the account offers us a top 10 list of players who have won the most points while defending.

Corentin Moutet (37.9% of points won) is a player who compensates for his relative weakness in pure striking with a fine counter-attacking quality and a highly unpredictable game.

The Frenchman is followed by Carlos Alcaraz (37.8%), Daniil Medvedev (37.6%), Novak Djokovic (37.5%) and the eternal Roberto Bautista Agut (37.3%).

Also of note is the logical 6ᵉ place of Alex De Minaur (37.1%), the presence of another Frenchman as Gaël Monfils is 10ᵉ (36.2%) but above all the 8ᵉ place of Jannik Sinner (36.4%).

Corentin Moutet
69e, 772 points
