Struff on injuries: "Players are actors"

Jan-Lennard Struff has addressed the issue of injuries in the world of tennis.
In an interview relayed by Punto de Break, the 35-year-old player revealed that almost all tennis players compete while injured, tired, or plagued by distracting thoughts, all while feigning serenity.
"All tennis players are good actors because in the vast majority of matches, we all feel far from our best. If I play 50 or 60 matches in a season, I would say there are only 5 or 6 where I am free from physical problems and completely fresh mentally, with nothing to disrupt my concentration and performance. The rest is about dealing with what comes your way, accepting the limitations you might have, and doing your best with what you have."
For reference, Struff is a German player, with a career-high ranking of 21, who notably reached the round of 16 at the US Open this year (defeated by Djokovic).
