Two notable withdrawals in Brussels: Rinderknech and Tiafoe withdraw from Belgian tournament
Starting this season, the ATP 250 tournament in Antwerp is moving to the capital and settling in Brussels, with the 2025 edition taking place from October 13th to 19th.
For the occasion, several players will be participating, such as Lorenzo Musetti, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Jiri Lehecka, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. However, two players initially announced will ultimately not be taking part.
These are Frances Tiafoe and Arthur Rinderknech. The American, who is having a challenging season despite his 28th place ranking, prefers not to make the trip to Belgium.
On his side, the Frenchman, ranked 54th in the world, is still competing in the Shanghai Masters 1000 where he will play in the quarterfinals. He will face either Auger-Aliassime or Musetti for a spot in the semifinals.
Following these two withdrawals, Damir Dzumhur, who was initially entered in the Stockholm draw the same week, as well as Matteo Arnaldi, take advantage to enter the main draw without going through the qualifying rounds.
