US Open Reveals Final List of Registered Mixed Doubles Teams
25 teams have registered for the US Open mixed doubles, which will be played on August 19 and 20, the week before the singles main draw begins.
With a condensed two-day format, the competition—boasting a prize pool of one million dollars—will bring together numerous stars from the ATP and WTA tours. However, a month after the initial team announcements, the full list was revealed today by the organizers.
Among the 25 teams, eight will enter the draw directly based on the combined sum of their singles rankings, while eight others will receive wild cards.
Notable among the newly registered pairs are specialists in the discipline. Katerina Siniakova will play alongside Marcelo Arevalo, Su-wei Hsieh will team up with Jan Zielinski, and Desirae Krawczyk will pair with Darian King.
Eight other new teams also feature on the list: Muchova/Rublev, Boulter/De Minaur, Vekic/Hurkacz, Jovic/Brooksby, Anisimova/Rune, Dabrowski/Auger-Aliassime, Schuurs/Griekspoor, and V.Williams/Opelka.
The pair of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, initially registered, will no longer participate. The two athletes recently ended their relationship.
The top eight qualifying teams based on rankings will be announced next Monday.
