Video - The Seven High-Stakes Tie-Breaks Played by Federer in Miami in 2017
A few days before the start of the Miami Masters 1000, Tennis TV released a compilation on YouTube of the seven tie-breaks played by Roger Federer during the 2017 edition of the tournament, which he won.
In 2017, Federer experienced one of the best seasons of his career, starting the year with a title at the Australian Open before brilliantly continuing during the Sunshine Double. A few days after defeating Stan Wawrinka in the Indian Wells final, Federer arrived in Miami as the heavy favorite.
At Key Biscayne, he was unstoppable, winning six of the seven tie-breaks he played throughout the tournament.
After a smooth start against Tiafoe (7-6, 6-3), the Swiss then handled Del Potro (6-3, 6-4) before battling against Bautista-Agut (7-6, 7-6) and Berdych (6-2, 3-6, 7-6).
In the semifinal, he delivered a masterpiece against Nick Kyrgios, winning after three intense tie-breaks (7-6, 6-7, 7-6) and 3 hours and 11 minutes of play.
Federer then made quick work of his eternal rival Rafael Nadal (6-3, 6-4) in the final, securing his third title in Miami at the time.
