When he was trailing, his expression didn't change," Andreeva reveals what she admires about Federer
At only 18 years old, Mirra Andreeva has qualified for the Wimbledon round of 16 for the second time in her career.
The Russian player, a survivor of a top 10 that saw many of its members eliminated early in the tournament, will play against Emma Navarro or Barbora Krejcikova for a place in the quarterfinals. In a press conference after her victory today, Andreeva spoke about Roger Federer and his understanding of the game:
"I feel that every time I watched him, he always knew what to do, regardless of the score or what was happening on the court. He handled pressure moments, faced break points... When he was trailing, his expression didn't change. Never.
I felt that he would be a very difficult opponent to face. When you are winning, everything is going well for you, but you look at your opponent and it's like nothing has changed... He just continues to play the same way and raises his level.
