"When Novak plays at his best, he is invincible," says Lajovic on Djokovic's chances at the US Open

On the eve of his 19th appearance at the US Open, Djokovic still dreams of a 25th Grand Slam title. While many doubt his ability to keep up physically, others believe the Serbian legend should never be counted out, as seen in this interview with Lajovic given to Sportklub.
"The biggest obstacle for Novak this year in the Grand Slams is his physical preparation—we've all seen it. If he can match the physical level of Sinner and Alcaraz, he will be one of the three favorites.
Sinner showed at Wimbledon that he can handle a tough loss like the one he suffered in the Roland-Garros final, gaining new confidence in himself.
Moreover, the two best players in the world are a bit ahead physically, but when Djokovic plays at his best, he is invincible. I really hope he is ready to keep up the pace in every match at this US Open."
This season, the 38-year-old player has played 34 matches on the tour. Winning 25 of them, he notably reached three consecutive Grand Slam semifinals.
