WTA Beijing: Jessica Pegula Battles Again... Before a Showdown Against Navarro

Jessica Pegula certainly isn't having any easy matches in this 2025 edition of the WTA 1000 in Beijing.
Despite a swift opening match against Tomljanovic (6-0, 6-3), the No. 5 seed came dangerously close to elimination against Raducanu (3-6, 7-6, 6-0) in the third round, before facing another tough duel against Kostyuk (6-3, 6-7, 6-1).
At the end of the Chinese night, the American demonstrated great efficiency to reach the quarterfinals: 8/13 on break points and 52% of points won on return of serve.
For a spot in the final four, the 31-year-old player will once again have her work cut out for her against her compatriot Emma Navarro. The latter achieved the feat of eliminating the world number two and recent Seoul winner: Iga Swiatek (6-4, 4-6, 6-0).
