Let's go Ruud. A comeback here would be phenomenal

Tennis In Numbers
Alcaraz has lost 4 out of his last 10 matches since becoming world no 1. 2 rounds into Australian Open and 1st and 2nd seeded players in Men's draw are already out. Had this happened in Women's draw people would be crying about how inconsistent female players are. Hypocrisy much

Bobo.
Ruud should stick to winning the 250 events.

@Tennis in Numbers, unfortunately you're not the only one to forget about the asterisks alongside current men's #1 and #2, Alcaraz and Ruud, who couldn't have become that without Djoković being able to defend a single ATP point at AusOpen 2022 (due to being deported) and Wimbledon 2022 (despite winning it) and Medvedev disallowed to play at the latter (because he's Russian).

Therefore, this is *nothing like women's tennis*. Rather it's people like you being forgetful that politics and cancel culture has unfortunately also entered men's tennis.

BTW it should completely irrelevant for the above facts and asterisks that I'm a triple vaccinated, mentally healthy human who disagrees with some Novak's views and is able to see Russian athletes separately from Putin's madness, knowing full well they'll enter the tennis history books as great athletes who took on collateral damage of the zeitgeist and politics of the day.

@Tennis In Numbers: yup, most of those early losses of top 20 men are actually not that unusual if we check the tennis history before the Big 3 (plus Murray).
Let's face it - the most recent tennis legends spoiled us and we'll miss them badly once Nadal and Novak eventually retire.

Sloppy opening set from ruud

I had a feeling Ruud would bow out early here

Guess instead of trying to fight past djoker in his half of the draw he’s looking to a potential French open with a limited or absent nadal.
MuguRafa
These youngsters need to look at djokovic
MuguRafa
Concentrate on fitness. They got no fitness. The heat is getting to them
jogipatel10
No.2 seed is also going in 2nd round as No.1 seed gone 😂
faby4life
@jogipatel10 Well it seems it isn't over until it is over!

Very good Jenson. You got this!

Ruud is becoming unpredictable

Should be comfortable win for brooks by

Alright alright alright Brooksby!!

I think the point is that even without the world no.1 at Aus, and with the top2 seeds out, the mens field remains deep in talent and strong in proven winners. If the top 2 in the women's side went out it would appear farcical
Tennis In Numbers
@bogbot.tc naah it's not that deep. We all are almost certain about Men's AO23 winner but we can't say the same about Women's winner. Even if the top 2 in women's draw went out, we have no 3 Jess who defeated Iga this year and is on a winning streak, no 5 Aryna who hasn't dropped a set and is on a winning streak and we also have no 7 Gauff who is also on a winning streak and playing solid. As far as men's are concerned we all know Djokovic is winning, anyone else winning it will be a big big surprise.
Tennis In Numbers
@Shonzilla
The point is not they were 1 or 2nd seeded, the point is regardless of the politics of the day, they would still be in the Top 5. And in men's tennis it were only the Big 3 and Murray who were consistent and the rest were/are as inconsistent as anybody.
Tennis In Numbers
And as we speak world no 9 in men's ranking has lost to a player out of top 100 in 5 sets in round 2. Talk about inconsistency. Lol
Tennis In Numbers
And now world no 13 has lost to a LL ranked 107. Lol. A little too much for the consistency
shonzilla
P.s. I entirely forgot that Novak also had to skip US Open 2022 and probably left 2000 points on the table that Alcaraz picked up and became the youngest #1 in history which would warrant another asterisk in the bio of Carlos. 😳
