Agree with V, Goffin needs this a lot more to get back on track. Been a rough few months for him

Monfils is dialed in. He should win this.

Going for Goffin! I'm just not a fan of Monfils, always thinking he has to act like a monkey...until he faces Djokovic, at which point he runs out of steam and circus acts.

I got angry when he beat DelPo too. Lol!
I said to myself...well, since he dared to beat Juan he better make it all the way or else he will no longer be my future son in law. :p

G'morning Christine & James. ^_^
Had to drive to work so now I'm missing the match.

Christine, I love Gael but David is my boy. He's gotta win especially since he won against our beloved DelPo in 1st rd.

Pam and Christinenelles, I say monkey, not meaning to be cruel. It is what we're called when we make such a spectacle of ourselves to make others laugh so that they will not call us names or dislike us for being champions. People love to see Monfils act like this, as it is expected of us. It's a way of appearing nonthreatening so as to make ourselves likeable. People also like him because he is not ever going to be in contention for a grand slam. Look at how Serena Williams is hated and called such derogatory names! It's because she goes out there to win and not to jump around and act like someone in a circus. She doesn't care whether people like her or not. That's what I love about her. She makes tennis entertaining simply by motivating herself on the court. Let Gael start winning grand slams...I guarantee you he will be called everything but a champion. In any case, note that I did not and would not call any black person a monkey, but some of us feel we have to act like one to gain approval. It saddens me.
