Auger-Aliassime calls out certain players: They have completely lost touch with reality

Félix Auger-Aliassime will play the ATP Finals semi-finals this Saturday against Carlos Alcaraz. The Canadian, speaking at a press conference after his victory against Alexander Zverev in a decisive qualifying match, wanted to send a message to some of his colleagues on the ATP tour.

Auger-Aliassime is having a very strong second half of the season. The 25-year-old player, who is set to break into the ATP top 5 after the tournament unless De Minaur pulls off a feat against Sinner in the coming hours, is back to a very high level.

He certainly wants to enjoy the moment and hasn't forgotten the privilege of being a professional tennis player, at a time when many players are complaining about the overcrowded schedule. Asked about this after his victory against the German, Auger-Aliassime is aware that one must fully appreciate his job.

"I don't understand how other players cannot appreciate this and not take pleasure in it. I think they have completely lost touch with reality. I understand that one can get tired of it.

I am tired too, but I am lucky to travel and discover different realities around the world. We are lucky, privileged people. I wake up every day and I appreciate it. I am very happy to be here.

Even if I lose matches, it's not a big deal, I'll be upset that day, but I don't know... In my humble opinion, if you want to play fewer tournaments, stay at home. No one is forcing you to be here," the Canadian thus stated to Punto de Break.

Very mature words. Nice guy, too.

I really hope Felix grows even more next year and takes over the domination from the other two clowns.
