If someone wants to watch the match, I dunno if it works from everywhere https://france3-regions.francetvinfo.fr/nouvelle-aquitaine/direct/aquitaine
Quentin is doing really well for the moment

This will be a good match up both lads on fire
Julien R.
Insane form from Quentin lately, while Pop is helped by Chardy during that event
I really dunno which one will win, I wish Quentin to win, people (at least in french medias) only talk about his top 100 but he deserve to be talked for his form and tennis, not his ranking.
Bobo.
It should be a competitive match. Alex has not been in great form in 2022. This has been his best event. Jeremy Chardy obviously has helped. Popy is a former RG junior champ, so no mug on clay, although his best surface is HC. I recall John Mac touting him as a future top 10 at AO a couple of years ago but he has yet to develop his game to crack top 50. Tennis Australia has high hopes for him in any case.
Julien R.
The problem with the junior results is that they are won at 99% without proposer tactics, variations of ball and change of rythmn
I've watched less than 10 RG and Wimb junior finals, but they all have been pointless from a pure tennistical eye, it is more about emotional control and being able to return better than the opponent, sure there's some difference between guys and girls junior
But overall apart from the guys hitting mome winners and girls going for the rallies, it is really "simplistic" tennis even during finals.

I wish him to get some good staff around him and to work hard now, he seems to have new objectives.
(Chardy was supposed to play and he asked him if he could help him up, I don't have the details but that means he is seeking help, that's a good sign imo)
He got some great matches, his biggest problem, from my pov, is that he struggle to reiterate great perf and stay consistent
I don't know if it's about mental or something else
Julien R.
About the John Mac line, I would handle it with kid gloves, I've heard that kind of things way too many times, and let's be honest it is a disappointment almost everytime for so many reasons.
So everytime that someone says a player is a future top 20/10/5 after some junior results
I think that 1.they do it to motivate the guy or the girl 2.to help make them entertaining to the public 3. They knows people among that players staff and knows how serious he / she is. 4 That they just say bs based on a result that means nothing at the end of a career.

Rough start, the struggle to convert BP is real
Bobo.
Thanks Julien. It must have been a close tight match. Obviously one or two points deciding the match. I am happy for Alexei.

A couple of years ago Alexei's tennis ranking was on an upward trajectory, it then levelled off and, in the last 12 months, has been slowly going down. The win should give him much needed confidence to get his career back on track.

The reference to John McEnroe related to a discussion on a local broadcaster also involving, if I recall properly, Jim Courier and Lleyton Hewitt before Alexei's 2nd or 3rd round match at AO 2-3 years ago. They all agreed that he could one day make the top 10. No timeframes specifically were mentioned.
