Djokovic beat an injured and shaky Nadal, then needed Tsispas to choke.
3
bastion
Novak did not beat a injured Nadal, he injured him in that 3rd epic set, they both went super goat level, and Novak then took him to injury level, last goat standing in that great match.

Expect Med in 3 easy sets.
2
bastion
Med must give him 2 sets in advantage, and then win it in 5, or else he will be way undercooked in last 2 matches, with his challenger draw here.

Koepfer and Evans are definitely not the easiest of opponents to have in the first few rounds but I do agree having a qualifier for a quarters is a joke

Why do they keep saying the end of his name like schlup. It ends schulp just look at where the U and the L are

Zverev already proved he can overcome Djokovic mentally at Tokyo. Novak really wanted that and wa ahead. And he took that loss badly. So Zverev is a legit contender

The reason Djokovic can’t lose is coz these guys feel too much pressure when they see the finishing line. When Djokovic plays 100% you have to play at a level as good as his while also having the confidence to go for shots in the big moments. The only guys who can do this are Stan, Rafa, Thiem, Roger, Delpo and Murray. Guys like RBA have the mentality but nowhere near the level of play. Djokovic playing at 100% won’t give you anything for free. If someone like Zverev gets to a winning position he will have to play at a level high enough to not only compete with peak Djokovic but also beat him. And on top of that, you can’t feel nerves and you have to hit balls to the lines an go for your shots. This is literally an impossible task for these guys.

Forget the 5 set stats and look at the moment. Not only did he loose to Zverev he lost to Carreño Busta. And then he has been loosing sets in the open not really looking great at all. Confidence is half the title he still doesn’t have it back. Zverev on the other hand is oozing in confidence talking and playing like he belongs. Gold medal 🥇 that Choker wanted so bad. Unbeatable all summer. Legit contender..

A little scare was averted...
MED needs to improve his level. Both alcraz and FAA are more explosive than botic

I always go with Med. He’s quite the genius.

@ Strike. I agree, I guess its marketability, getting them on while their home nations are still awake. Felix arguably his home fans can hack the night match

For the first sentence, I agree with you, Christina, but do you agree with yourself all the time? :)
1
samiruffsankey
Yep, you can only play who is in front of you. No point complaining about draws, it all balances out in the end.

christinenelles88
Botic. He's a likeable guy. And has done well to be in this match but sadly for him, I think this is his last appearance at USO 2021.

christinenelles88
Hi sam. The squabbles about draws always baffle me.
1
samiruffsankey
Hi Christine! It happens every slam, usually the players with “easy” draws lose though as they haven’t been tested enough.

Having to play a slam quarter in half sunlight half shade is a joke aswell

VillageIdiotDan
Hah, Strike, again I agree. I thought that yesterday but felt I was being precious

Daniil won’t drop a set till the final where he’ll get rinsed by Novak
