I'm not surprised that it's gone to the third set.There's still a fight in Venus' belly, but realistically, she's definitely not at her 2017-type level, but then age is catching up with her.Regardless, assessing her overall career,a great player.

@Justin We can enjoy watching Venus while we can, though her level has dropped due in large part to age.As for Serena though,I definitely want her to retire after she surpasses Margaret Court's tally of 24 grand slam titles.For now, she must continue playing tennis.

I was downstairs weaving new tent material on one of my looms when my houseboy notified me this match had started. I see no reason for giving my expert prediction because even all the hot-shot commentators on this site have already voiced their opinion of enjoying watching Venus play but knowing she most likely will not win the match. We are sadly watching Venus in her final days and weeks of her long career. Donna spanks Venus in 2 straight sets. Now Hansook has served my Top Ramen and I will switch back to the Little League W.S. baseball wich I am also an expert at.

I've gone with Vekic for this one. I realise that they both have increased momentum in this tournament, but Venus has had a couple of very early losses.

She"s (Venus) still a wonderful ambassador for the game and a role model for so many.
