Bianca's not exactly the poster girl for being in tip-top physical shape. She's also clumsier than any current or former top-5 player I can recall. The other night was now the third time I've seen her sustain (also the 2021 & 2023 Miami Opens) ankle injuries serious enough to force retirement from an event, because she somehow manages to get her foot caught on a hard court. I very much doubt that three times is just bad luck. Watching the replay of the latest injury again just now, she simply landed on the toe of her shoe after being mere inches off the ground. How much agility does it require to land on your soles? We're not talking about a massive leap in the air here. 🤦🤷
