I think Alexei stands a chance of getting his 1st win against Novak in this match, especially if it's scheduled to be a day match with the current extreme weather conditions, as it's no secret that Novak doesn't like playing in those conditions 🤔

Unfortunately, I think this is just about it for Novak’s reign of dominance. The Olympics was the exception this year because of how motivated and driven he was to win the gold, and after that he successfully completed his career.

Not sure why people are saying “tennis is saved” and celebrating his loss, when he literally won the entire sport of tennis during his long, absolutely outstanding career.

Haters gonna hate like always, they always cheering against Nole.

Grenaro, you know as well as I do, that Novak does not like playing in hot conditions, I'm just stating a true fact, he also complained about having to wait to play his 1st round match as it was delayed, in his post match interview, as he was feeling tired because he wasn't getting any younger.

I've only mentioned about the 'weather conditions' in New York twice.

I didn't say anything about an 'upset alert' also in Australia they don't have the humidity that there is in New York, as it's the humidity, along with the heat that is the drain on your resources.

@/AladdinSane Australia is massive like the US... with cities in the tropics, the snow fields and the desert. Your comment is quite a generalisation. Melbourne (AUS open home) might not have the humidity that NYC has, but Sydney (Popyrin's home) can be very humid in summer

@pb8ch ......It doesn't matter anyway, as it's a night match, making it the third night match in a row for Novak, so he won't be troubled with the heat & as you said, the Aus open is held in Melbourne which doesn't have the humidity of New York.

Popyrin has already played Novak twice in 2 slams this year (AO, Wimbledon) and was able to take a set off the GOAT in both

Popyrin is also playing with confidence and playing a lot better than those two times they played and is a great chance to upset the GOAT

Yes, of course. But you mention it as an 'upset alert', underestimating Djokovic's ability to surpass such adversity. Keep in mind he won 10 AO, when in January the temperatures in Melbourne are quite very high. And his opponents, more or less, suffer from the heat too.

Temperatures are one thing, but wind doesnt nessearily favor either player as much as equalizes the 2.

Well I think this match time and court should have been scheduled for Shelton vs Tiafoe. That's the real popcorn match of the day. 😠

Popyrin has good form and can create a bang today.

But Nole probably has harder 3rd and 4th rounds that Sinner will have his semifinals match.
3rd round - in form player, won Masters 1000 last month
4th round - either Shelton or Tiafoe. Both play their best tennis in the US open
