@sabah_kazmi how is Ruud lucky to be in the final? Didn't he win his matches? Because Alcaraz has beaten Nadal and Djokovic this year he deserves it more? It's not like he did it in the US open. If that was the case I could have "understand" your comment. Anyone who reaches a final deserves to be there. It is his 2nd major final this year this ain't luck.

The person who “deserves” the number one ranking is the person who wins. Who could be more deserving than the champion? The answer is “nobody.”

Not one broken racket, no childish outbursts, no swearing, no spitting, no abusing their player boxes, no abusing ball folks, no disrespectful rants at the umpire, no distraction tactics, no gamesmanship. How thoroughly refreshing to have tennis without the negative dramatics. As if the game, and the level of athletism isn't enough. Good representation from both these gents. No one can say these guys are not passionate about this sport.

Honestly this could go either way. Carlos arguably deserves the no.1 ranking more but both are playing the best tennis of their careers so far. I'm just glad I got to watch that Alcaraz vs Sinner match. What a sight to behold. Looking forward to watching the next 20 years of tennis if this is the quality we get to see.
