Some people on the tour thinks he lost more than just time with his injuries, I heard a lot of things but he got some stability and balance since then, spending time with family helped him a lot through his journey
Tbh his Cincinnati and Halle run in 2019 are insane to me when I watch him, even his Montpelier title, because he really isn't the same since that injury, he has been a top player thanks to his movements, being able to hit the ball early and his eyes, but after that injury he has never been able to hit the ball early as he did before, and his confidence isn't the same especially for winners down the line (he was a really good player to break the rythme of a rally with a DL but now it is rare to see him use it, and when he does it can be a really wide fault sadly).

If you want details he had been through some injuries since that eye thing, but nothing too serious/bad, the real problem is that he really has the worst timing with the injuries, it is always when he is in form and great shape again, or when he just finished his season preparation, the guy has some bad luck in his career but still manage to be in such a high level, it is mind-blowing to me haha

Thanks for that analysis Julien! I can't believe I forgot that eye injury. It's really sad, I've always liked his game and I think he's one of the biggest talents on tour. Great understanding of the game. Let's hope he somehow climbs back to the top where he belongs.
