Stan losing to Roger, is as predictable as Roger losing to Novak ... and Novak losing to Stan?

Real strange, but funny in a way. They mental block each other! ?

C'mon Stan atleast make a match against Roger .

Tiafoe stands no chance against this Stan.

Agreed, let's go Tiafoe. I went to Basel a few years back for this event and Stan threw in a shocking performance...hoping for one today! :)

Tiafoe must win, give Roger a bigger fight, if Stan wins and plays Roger, he will lose 6-2, 6-1 again against his best friend.... ?

Bastion if I m not wrong roger and Novak h2h is 26-22... U r saying as if it's 26-0 or 1-2.... And roger vs Stan h2h is 23-3 so there u can see the difference

Vismai, good point, Novak is also 19-6 against Stan, very one sided. But the last few years, it has not been so, Stan struggles against Fed, but not Novak, Novak struggles against Stan, but not Fed, etc.

I get your point bastion but think you are wrong. You cannot compare Roger's match-up against Novak with that to Stan. First Djoko leads H2H with 26-22 against Roger and Roger leads 23-3 against Stan. Quite a big difference, right? :) But apart from that I don't think that neither Stan has a mental block against Roger or that Roger's stucked mentally against Novak. I think it's as simple as this: Roger is too good for Stan. And it's just the margins that separates Roger and Novak. Actually thinking of the top players I can really only think of one, to me, clear case of mental block: Federer against Rafa. Extremely interesting that the tides turned so dramatically, I assume nobody saw that coming. But since the tides turned the way it did I think strengthens the argument that Roger indeed suffered from a mental block for many years.

Vismai, nope, but at least he will put up a bigger fight, something like 7-5, 6-4. Stan just not interested in beating Roger.

Sorry Leiron, you did not get my point, fact is what is H2H between Roger - Novak, say the past 3 or 4 years, and the same question with Stan v Novak?

That is the facts that we cannot deny.

Yes, over all in terms of history, big differences, but my point is, the last few years.

You know the saying, a miss is as good as a mile, and to say Roger has not develop a mental block against Novak the past few years (or Novak has no a mental block against Stan), is to live in big denial. Yes, can change any time, but the last few years it as been all Novak vs Roger, and all Stan vs Novak, it is a tennis fact.

Of course the margins are very small many times (like the great Wimbledon final, almost unbelievable), and will always be between all these legends (The Three among themselves) and against great/good players (like Stan, Murray, Delpo ... and I think we will add Medvedev maybe in a year or two), but the fact is, the H2H's speak for themselves the past few years (I am not talking about their whole history).

It's nothing but a match up. Novaks defensive skills falls short against Stans dyanamic power especially the backhand side joker is not able to feed off.

Stan is able to penetrate the court.

Mental block , boy Roger has the biggest block against joker the way he had against Rafa for a while. Wimby loss was a classic example.

Agree Heman, that is just the way it is. That is why Novak also now struggles against Medvedev, and if he cannot come up with a plan, he will lose more against both Med and Stan (in top form, which he usually is against Novak).

Stan out injured, told you guys he is afraid of Roger. ?
