Nick taking the easy way out here something he has done time and again in his career. Just when you thought he's beginning to change it around, a challenge presents itself and what does Nick do? Goes right back to his old ways...

Diego.. If you think he was injured then I guess we probably watched a different match. The guy was complaining right from the start and just didn't look like he wanted to be there. Why? Because the guy at the other end was out serving and hitting him so he chose to take the easy way out instead of gusting it out.. At least that's what it looked like to me.

Nick's parents are not well and he wants to go home and be with them. I am surprised you are quick to judgment like this. Otherwise if his mind was not worried about his parents he would have blown this guy out of the park.

Nick can say officially that he is injured but his mind is with his parents. If he doesn't claim knee injury he will lose on purpose in the first round of the US Open so he can go home and be with his family.

I am sure he feels bad for the fans, however family always comes first.

Think about all of this before rushing to judgment.

Peace.

Out of steam?
Asktheexpert
Alan... Maybe but if family comes first then he should never have played the US swing since his Mom has been unwell for quite a while and sure we don't know what's going on but to justify his boorish behaviour with another excuse? We are all tired of it. Fritz was playing unbelievable tennis and I doubt many would have stopped him at that level.

We wish the best for his parents.

But let's be honest, Nick had the opportunities to take a non-stop flight to Australia, but opted to
spend several weeks partying in the Bahamas between Wimbledon and the US hardourts.

Hey expert. I don't often disagree with wise people But in this case you're wrong. Family comes first no matter what.
Well said Allan F.
