Guinard surprise winner over Safiullin in Auckland, Cazaux also qualified

Positive results for the two French players competing at the ATP 250 Auckland on Tuesday. Manuel Guinard was alternate to play the qualifiers.
He made it through one round, before losing to Yannick Hanfmann.
A lucky loser, he faced Roman Safiullin in the first round. Far from being the favorite, Guinard won 7-6, 2-6, 6-1, despite eleven double faults on his part. He will face Tommy Paul in the next round.
Arthur Cazaux also qualified for the second round, beating Adam Walton 7-5, 6-1.
He will also have his work cut out in the second round, when he takes on Felix Auger-Aliassime.
